Auckland Lantern Festival (Albert Park, Auckland)

Just came back from Auckland Lantern Festival down in Albert Park. Bunch of us from the lab went there together. There were lots of stalls in Asian fashion except for the price. Everything was obviously overpriced... Oh well.

After we were done looking for feed and lantern watching, we went down to get some coffee. Then headed back up to the park to watch the fireworks.

After the fireworks were done, we headed back to the stalls for bargain hunting. Yes, the stalls were trying to get rid of stuff before the closing time, and you get 2 for the price of one, and such. It's all food stuff though... Anyway.

Tanpopo (Anzac Ave., Auckland)

One of the summer student finished working in the lab, and to celebrate(?) the occasion, some of us went out for a dinner. But to where? We decided to pay a visit to this Tanpopo joint on Anzac Avenue downtown. It's a ramen joint. My technician told me that tonkotsu soup is the specialty here, and so I gave it a go. I also had some dumplings and half-size fried rice. When it all came out, it was a little overwhelming. But as usual, I didn't have much problem finishing.

I came out a very happy man after this huge meal.

AirNZ Flight 822 (ADL-AKL)

I took the return flight from Adelaide to Auckland. It's just a repeat of AKL-ADL flight, just in reverse direction.

AirBus A320

Chicken or beef? I chose beef.

But... Skybridge was not available for our flight! We had to get off the plane on the tarmac. We waited for yongs before they finally managed to park the ladder truck close enough to the plane. And of course we also had to wait for the busses to turn up before they brought us to the arrivals. All this mess though they knew they'd have to unload us like that.
