Squisito Cafe Bar & Ristorante (Glenelg, Adelaide)

Me, my sister and my mother went out for a dinner at this joint Squisito in Glenelg.

Nice view of the beach from the joint

Very filling entree platter

Seafood basket

So, nothing much to write home about, really. Their website supposedly located at www.squisito.com.au, is suspended as I write this. Not good.

DeLonghi Latissima EN680M Nespresso machine

Scored one of these from eBay as a factory seconds. Pretty stoked. It makes decent enough coffee for us who are not that coffee-savvy. It's very convenient for our purpose as I would never have enough time doing all the business in the morning before leaving for work.

Katsumoto Japanese Restaurant (Gays Arcade, Adelaide)

My parents were telling me about this little joint in Gays Arcade (off from Adelaide Arcade), and I decided to give a go; and ended up going there two Saturday lunches in a row. They cook very homely meals; not the "typical" Japanese you might encounter but would be typical of something your mom might cook, or eat out at a Teishoku-ya in Japan.

Very homely. Apparently they've been around for at least 15 years or so. Not bad.

The Barn Bistro (McLaren Vale)

My family went down to McLaren Vale to stock up some goodies from Wirra Wirra, and I tagged along. We dropped by at the Barn Bistro to stock up on the food in our stomach before hitting the Wirra Wirra trail. I had a chicken schnitzel with surf (prawn) sauce. When it came, it looked good but...

OMG it was salty. The sauce was. Salty enough to worry about my kidneys. Really. It burned my tongue for quite some time after the meal. I guess I won't be having this again if I come back here.

Living stones

One of "living stones" plant my father keeps bloomed. Apparently it will produce some seeds. Very peculiar plants they are.
